Instrumental equipment of the AIC

Instrumental analytics is the field of analytical chemistry that performs the analysis of the to be analysed substance by use of modern analytical equipment. The questions can be of a variety of nature, ranging from simple standard analysis to highly complex studies. Compared to classical wet-chemical methods, the methods of the instrumental analysis are characterised by the fact that the measurements are fast, precise, selective and carried out with smallest sample quantities due to the help of state-of-the-art analysers.

The analytical tools have been continuously developed and updated over the past decades. As a consequence, in addition to the state-of-the-art equipment, competent specialists are required to operate the tools and to be able to evaluate the acquired data precisely.

The AIC of the Vienna University of Technology bundles high-tech analytical equipment and corresponding expertise in the fields of biology, surface and trace analysis, as well as vibrational spectroscopy.
